GENERAL
What are Tefora Garden raised metal beds made from?
All Tefora Garden raised beds are designed for long-term outdoor and garden use, with a durable galvanized steel structure and an enhanced protective coating system.
Our panels use a 0.6 mm galvanized steel core with a corrosion-resistant zinc-based coating. The steel is commonly described as C3 galvanized steel, or more precisely, galvanized steel suitable for C3 corrosion environments, offering reliable performance in typical outdoor conditions such as urban gardens, wet weather, cold seasons, and snowy climates.
What makes Tefora different is our extra-thick protective coating system. While many brands use 0.6 mm steel with very thin coatings, Tefora uses a 0.6 mm galvanized steel core with a durable, extra-thick protective coating system — bringing the total panel thickness to approximately 1.0 mm, with about 0.2 mm of coating on each side.
For the outer protective layer, Tefora uses a CSM rubber-based coating system. CSM, also known as chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, is widely used in weather-resistant and chemical-resistant coating applications. This coating helps improve the panel’s resistance to moisture, corrosion, scratches, and long-term outdoor exposure.
Our coating supplier has provided food safety-related test reports. While the coating is not marketed as a formal “food-grade certification,” the test results show that heavy metals were not detected, supporting safe and non-toxic use for garden applications.
This material system helps deliver:
- Reliable corrosion and rust resistance
- Strong performance in wet, cold, and snowy climates
- Better resistance to outdoor weathering and daily garden use
- A thicker, more durable surface compared with ordinary thin-coated steel panels
- Solid structural stability when filled with soil
- A more substantial, premium feel during assembly and use
Compared with standard thin-coated metal garden beds, Tefora’s galvanized steel core and extra-thick CSM protective coating provide better durability, a more solid feel, and longer service life — making it a dependable choice for Canadian and U.S. gardens.
What makes Tefora Garden the ultimate choice for raised garden beds?
Tefora Garden raised beds are designed for real North American seasons — built to last, easy to assemble, and thoughtfully made for everyday home gardens.
What sets us apart:
1. Thicker panels for better durability
Many raised garden beds use 0.6 mm steel with very thin coatings. Tefora uses a 0.6 mm galvanized steel core with a durable, extra-thick protective coating system, bringing the total panel thickness to approximately 1.0 mm, with about 0.2 mm of coating on each side.
This thicker panel system helps improve durability, corrosion resistance, and the overall solid feel of the garden bed.
2. Built for wet, cold, and snowy climates
Our beds are made with galvanized steel suitable for outdoor garden use, with a protective coating system designed to help resist moisture, rust, and long-term weather exposure.
Whether you are gardening through rainy springs, hot summers, or snowy winters, Tefora raised beds are made to perform season after season.
3. No-peel assembly upgrade
After listening to real customers, we upgraded our product to make assembly easier. Many customers purchase multiple garden beds at once, and peeling protective film from every panel can take a lot of time and energy.
That’s why Tefora raised beds are designed with a no-peel assembly experience — helping you save time, reduce hassle, and start gardening sooner.
4. Strong and stable structure
The corrugated panel design adds strength and rigidity, helping the bed stay solid and keep its shape even when fully filled with soil.
This structure provides dependable support for vegetables, herbs, flowers, and seasonal planting.
5. Modular and versatile design
Each kit can be assembled into multiple shapes and sizes, giving you the flexibility to create a garden layout that fits your space, planting style, and backyard design.
6. Safer for families, kids, and pets
Rounded corners and protective rubber edging help reduce sharp edges, making the garden bed safer for everyday family use.
Together, these features create a raised garden bed that is thicker, easier to assemble, durable, flexible, and thoughtfully designed for real home gardens across Canada and the United States.
What is the best raised garden bed?
When choosing a raised garden bed, three qualities matter most: durability, flexibility, and safety.
Tefora Garden raised beds are designed to deliver all three — in a practical, reliable way for real home gardens.

3. Modular & flexible design

4. Safe for families and everyday gardening
Rounded corners and protective rubber edging help reduce sharp edges, making the beds safer around kids and pets.
The coated steel surface is designed for outdoor garden use and is suitable for growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers in typical home gardening environments.
Together, these features make Tefora Garden a durable, versatile, and thoughtfully designed choice for modern home gardens — especially in Canadian conditions.
Why should I choose raised bed gardening if I’m in Canada?
Raised bed gardening is especially well suited for Canadian climates, where short growing seasons, cold springs, and unpredictable weather are common.
- Here’s why many Canadian gardeners choose raised beds:
Warmer soil, earlier planting
Raised beds warm up faster than ground soil in spring, allowing you to start planting earlier and extend your growing season. - Better drainage in wet or snowy conditions
Elevated soil improves drainage, helping prevent waterlogging after heavy rain or snowmelt. - Full control over soil quality
You can customize your soil mix with the right nutrients and structure for vegetables, herbs, and flowers — regardless of poor native soil. - Healthier plant growth
Loose, well-aerated soil promotes stronger root development and more productive plants. - Easier to maintain
Raised beds reduce bending, minimize weeds, and make everyday gardening tasks more comfortable.
Beyond the practical benefits, raised bed gardening is also a deeply rewarding hobby — letting you enjoy the outdoors, grow your own food, and experience the satisfaction of harvesting fresh produce straight from your backyard.
Is it safe to grow vegetables and herbs in steel raised garden beds?
Yes — Tefora Garden raised beds are suitable for growing vegetables, herbs, and other edible plants. 🌱
Our beds are made from galvanized steel core with an extra-thick protective coating system, designed specifically for outdoor garden use.
The galvanized coating helps protect the steel from corrosion and weather exposure under normal garden conditions. In typical garden soils, this type of coated steel is widely used in outdoor structures, agricultural applications, and landscaping products.
With proper soil selection and good drainage, you can confidently use Tefora Garden raised beds for growing food crops and enjoy many seasons of gardening.
Will metal raised garden beds overheat in summer?
When used properly, metal raised garden beds do not overheat and are suitable for summer growing.
Tefora Garden raised beds are made from hot-dip galvanized steel with a 0.6 mm steel core and a durable protective zinc coating, designed for outdoor garden environments. The metal surface can warm up in direct sunlight, but once the bed is filled with soil, the soil mass acts as a natural temperature buffer that helps keep root zones more stable.
In real garden use, this means:
- Soil temperatures remain suitable for most vegetables and herbs
- Roots are protected from sudden temperature spikes
- Plants grow well with proper watering and mulching
With adequate soil depth, regular watering, and optional mulch on top, metal raised beds perform reliably in summer conditions — including Canadian summers.
Are metal raised garden beds suitable for Canadian winters?
Yes — Tefora Garden raised beds are designed for year-round outdoor use in Canadian and northern U.S. climates, including cold, wet, and snowy winters. ❄️
Our beds are made with a 0.6 mm galvanized steel core and a durable, extra-thick protective coating system, bringing the total panel thickness to approximately 1.0 mm. This helps provide strong resistance against moisture, rust, corrosion, and long-term outdoor exposure.
In winter conditions, this means:
- The protective coating helps resist rust and weathering
- The galvanized steel structure stays stable through normal freeze–thaw cycles
- The corrugated panels help the bed maintain its shape when exposed to snow and cold temperatures
- The raised design supports better drainage compared with in-ground planting areas
With proper installation, good drainage, and normal seasonal care, Tefora Garden raised beds can remain outdoors year-round and continue performing well season after season.
Design & Placement
Do Tefora Garden raised beds have an open bottom?
Yes — all Tefora Garden raised garden beds feature an open-bottom design. 🌱
This bottomless structure allows plant roots to grow naturally into the ground, improving drainage and promoting healthier root development.
What tools or experience do I need to assemble a Tefora Garden bed?
Our garden beds are simple to assemble and require no special expertise. Each kit comes with a custom wrench and clear step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process and ensure a smooth, stress-free setup experience.
If you have a power drill and a 10mm hex socket, the assembly will be even faster and easier.
Can I connect multiple Tefora Garden beds together?
Absolutely! Our modular design lets you customize the size and shape of your garden to suit your space and growing needs. For even more flexibility, you can use our Extension Kits to expand and adapt your garden setup as your plans grow.
Is it okay to place a Tefora Garden bed on a patio, deck, or concrete?
Yes! Our beds work great on concrete, patios, and other hard surfaces. We recommend lining the bottom of the bed with two continuous layers of landscaping fabric to help retain soil and minimize any potential leaching.
